This latest grant brings the total investment in Chameleon to over $42 million across four funding phases.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Key Highlights:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;h1&gt;Nimbus Infrastructure&lt;/h1&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Nimbus infrastructure served as one of the first open source implementations of the concept of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) with the production release of the first component, the &lt;a href="https://wordpress.cels.anl.gov/nimbusproject/wp-content/uploads/sites/116/2023/08/VW_EuroPar05.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Workspace Service&lt;/a&gt;, released in mid-2005. Over time, the system grew to add an implementation of a &lt;a href="https://wordpress.cels.anl.gov/nimbusproject/wp-content/uploads/sites/116/2023/08/bresnahan_sciencecloud2011.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;scalable quota-based storage cloud&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href="https://wordpress.cels.anl.gov/nimbusproject/wp-content/uploads/sites/116/2023/08/contextualization-eScience2008.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;contextualization tools&lt;/a&gt;, allowing users to configure &amp;ldquo;one click&amp;rdquo; virtual clusters, as well as a variety of &lt;a href="https://wordpress.cels.anl.gov/nimbusproject/wp-content/uploads/sites/116/2023/08/keahey_wcs_ocs_2012.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;tools creating and managing configurations distributed over multiple clouds&lt;/a&gt;, and adapting them to the &lt;a href="https://wordpress.cels.anl.gov/nimbusproject/wp-content/uploads/sites/116/2023/08/Science-Clouds-CCA08.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;needs of the scientific community&lt;/a&gt;.
